Membership Terms
for Annual Membership

By applying for and accepting annual membership or subscription with the Greater Noida Bangiya Samaj (GNBS), you agree to uphold the following values, responsibilities, and terms of participation:
 

1. Purpose of Membership

GNBS is a socio-cultural platform that celebrates Bengali traditions, fosters community bonding, and promotes inclusive cultural exchange in Greater Noida. Members and subscribers are expected to support and participate in this mission with sincerity, mutual respect, and a spirit of collaboration.
 

2. Validity & Renewal

  • Membership is granted for the forthcoming Bengali calendar year upon payment made during the current calendar year and becomes effective from Poila Baisakh through to Chaitra Sankranti (Mid April to mid April) of that Bengali year, subject to committee approval and successful payment.

  • Membership renewal must be completed before the commencement of the next Bengali calendar year to maintain an uninterrupted active status.

  • Only members with an active and valid subscription for the current Bengali calendar year are eligible to avail themselves of GNBS membership benefits and to participate in GNBS programmes, activities, and events.

  • All membership privileges are automatically suspended upon expiry of the validity period and will be reinstated only after successful renewal.

 

3. Eligibility

  • Membership and subscription are open to individuals and families who identify with or support Bengali culture and are residents or well-wishers of the Greater Noida region.

  • GNBS reserves the right to approve or decline any membership or subscription request.

 

4. Membership Contributions

  • Event-specific contributions (in cash or kind) may be requested to support GNBS events and cultural celebrations.

 

5. Code of Conduct

  • Members and subscribers must treat one another with dignity and respect at all times, irrespective of age, gender, religion, language, region, or socio-economic background.

  • Abusive language, discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or disruptive behaviour—whether in person, over the phone, verbally, in writing, or through any digital or social media communication—during GNBS meetings, events, or related interactions is strictly prohibited.

  • Alcohol consumption, smoking, or any unlawful activity is not permitted at GNBS-organised events or on premises used for GNBS activities.

  • Members must comply with all decisions, rules, and guidelines issued by the GNBS Executive Committee and event organisers.

  • Any form of physical altercation, threat, or violent behaviour will attract immediate disciplinary action.

  • Members shall not engage in activities that may harm the reputation, integrity, or public image of GNBS.

  • Misuse of GNBS platforms, communication channels, logos, or member databases for personal, commercial, or political purposes is prohibited without prior written approval.

  • Members must maintain decorum and discipline during meetings, cultural programmes, workshops, and all GNBS-affiliated events.

  • Financial misconduct, misrepresentation, or unauthorised fundraising in the name of GNBS is strictly forbidden.

  • Members are expected to respect event volunteers, organisers, guests, and invited artists or speakers at all times.

  • Any grievances or disputes should be raised by writing an email to info@gnbs.in and not through public confrontation or social media.

  • Members shall not circulate false, misleading, or defamatory information about GNBS, its office bearers, or fellow members.

  • Damage to property, venues, or equipment used for GNBS activities may result in liability for repair or replacement costs.

  • All members must adhere to local laws and regulations while participating in GNBS activities.

  • Violation of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including warning, suspension, or termination of membership, without any entitlement to a refund.

  • The decision of the Board of Trustees in all matters relating to conduct, discipline, and interpretation of this Code shall be final and binding on all members and subscribers.

  • All members must respect the diverse views and backgrounds within the Samaj.

 

6. Participation & Representation

  • Members are encouraged to attend key cultural events, volunteer, and represent GNBS with pride in public forums.

  • Constructive feedback is always welcome. However, public criticism, defamation, or negative remarks about GNBS on social media or otherwise may lead to disciplinary review.

  • GNBS reserves the right to modify, add, or discontinue specific benefits or event participation privileges at its discretion.

 

7. Privacy & Media Use

  • By becoming a member/subscriber, you grant GNBS permission to use event photos or videos that may include you or your family for newsletters, websites, or social media.

  • GNBS respects the privacy of all members. Personal information will be kept confidential and used only for official GNBS communication and coordination purposes.

 

8. Refunds & Cancellations

  • Membership or subscription fees are non-refundable once paid.

  • In case of any dispute or termination due to misconduct, no refund will be issued.

  • GNBS reserves the right to review or revise fees, benefits, or policies periodically.

 

9. Resignation & Termination

  • Members may withdraw from GNBS by notifying the Membership Managing Committee in writing. No refund is applicable.

  • Repeated violation of GNBS values or refusal to cooperate may result in suspension or removal after due notice.

 

10. Governance & Decision-Making

  • The Managing Committee is responsible for the day-to-day functioning and event management of GNBS.

  • Special committees may be formed for festivals or social projects, and active members may be invited to join.

  • General meetings may be convened for important decisions, and members will be encouraged to vote or express their views.

 

Acceptance

By submitting your application or renewal and completing payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions and commit to upholding the ethos of the Greater Noida Bangiya Samaj.
